Beers

We are proud to serve Shepherd Neame’s well regarded range of prime Beers and Lagers, brewed at Britain’s oldest brewery in Faversham, Kent.

We will be inviting nominations (from drinkers!) for Shepherd Neame’s seasonal brews.

Seasonal Brew

Amber Ale (4.5% ABV)
Shepherd Neame’s seasonal ale for January and February

A golden brown ale with a fruity aroma and zesty citrus, complementing the full malty palate.

Regular Brews

Masterbrew Bitter (3.7% ABV)

Masterbrew

This is the beer that Shepherd Neame is best known for in the brewery’s Kentish heartland – a distinctive, mid-brown bitter ale, with all the hoppy aroma you’d expect of a beer brewed in the heart of the hop country. Well balanced, with a taste that’s been described as “wonderfully aggressive, tinged with sweetness”. Master Brew is brewed using only the finest Kentish barley and hops, and is the best-selling cask ale brewed in Kent.

KENT’S BEST (4.1% ABV)

KentsBest

A medium-bodied and well-balanced cask conditioned ale brewed to the best traditions of premium bitters. Mellow brown, with a rich malt flavour and the distinctive tang of Target and Goldings hops.

Kent’s Best Bitter will particularly appeal to cask beer connoisseurs, and is a fine contrast to Master Brew and Spitfire Premium Kentish Ale.

Peter Ogle the beer writer describes Kent’s Best – “An ambient bitter, which successfully merges the biscuity sweetness of English malt with the fruity, floral bitterness of locally grown hops from the Kent countryside, to give a clean, satisfying and moreish drink (to quaff, effortlessly, among friends).”

AMBER ALE (4.5%)

HÜRLIMANN STERNBRAU (4.8% ABV)

Hurlimann
Considered by its many devotees to be one of the finest lagers brewed in Britain. The brewing of Hürlimann is strictly controlled to ensure that the beer remains true to the original Swiss recipe. Only the finest Swiss yeast and Challenger hops are used in this all malt brew to give a full lager flavour.

ORANGEBOOM PILSENER (3.7% ABV)

Orangeboom

“The best draught lager in the world” according to judges at the 2002 Brewing Industry International Awards. A light interpretation of the Continental pilsner style, Oranjeboom has the full body and flavour you would expect of a lager with a heavier alcoholic content.

HOLSTEN EXPORT (4.7% ABV)

Holsten
A traditional German lager brewed under licence in Faversham in accordance with Bavaria’s strict Reinheitsgebot purity law, which is the world’s first food and drink legislation. Announced by Duke Wilhelm IV in 1516, it ruled that only three ingredients should be used to brew beer – malted barley, water and hops.

FOSTERS (4.9% ABV)

The ‘amber nectar’ – originally brewed in Melbourne in 1888 and brought to England in 1971,
it remains one of the best-selling and most refreshing lagers available.

STRONGBOW (4.5% ABV)

strongbow

Strongbow remains the most popular cider brand in the UK, accounting for more than half the cider sold.
Its unique taste delivers a refreshingly clean, crisp and sharp pint, making it a Gold Medal Winner at the International Beer and Cider Competition.

DRAUGHT GUINNESS (4.1% ABV)

guinness

For drinkers of Stout we serve Draught Guinness.
